Weird, they're pretty large buses which seem rather unsuited to the Saltwell Parks, could be for the 57 or 58 afterall. Not that a full size vehicle is impossible, just not the best vehicle for the job.
The Yutong E10 is exactly the same length as the current Saltwell Park buses, 10.8m
A further ex-Metrobus Scania OmniCity acquired for spare parts is 563 (YN08 OAV). Collected by Go North East on Sunday gone, this one now resides at Riverside.
The one that is at Washington is due to be collected by Alpha Recovery shortly.

Is it true a 55 plate B7TL Gemini 1 open top has been purchased by GNE?

No, although East Yorkshire are currently taking delivery of 55-plate Geminis for their open-top service (which has released their X-reg B7TLs to us for the Toon Tour).
I suspect the initial question is in relation to the latest Ensign 'in/out' list on the SKM website reporting that BX55 XLV had been sold to 'Go-Ahead NE' rather than 'East Yorkshire' or 'Go-Ahead EYMS' as per previous months. The bus in question is fleet number 889.

The Yutong is 100mm wider though which could be an issue with the way some people park!
Yeah that was more of my point, it's a tricky little route the 54 especially. The narrow width of a Streetlite makes them ideal for the route. I had 6084 on it last week though, which probably has a similar footprint. The larger buses probably won't make much difference in reality, more space for passengers!

I wasn't a big fan of the Yutong to be honest, the build quality didn't seem the best on the demonstrator. It felt very top heavy and you could see the inside ceiling swaying as it went round corners
I would have thought the X66 would be the first route to be electrified as it seems like a very EV friendly route
But the X66 doesn’t cross the Tyne Bridge and go into Newcastle which is why there is funding towards the cost of the buses.

Still think 53/54
Relatively short route, same length bus as current streetlites, same PVR with one spare
Just seen a photo on Flickr of 5440 displaying NK16AZF. Has this been re-registered or has someone not been bothered to double check before making replacement number plates?

NK16AZF showing as a Fiat Ducato motor caravan, so probably a mistake .....
Has anyone noticed on the Hadrian Pk bound Citylink57s, the announcement after John Dobson St just says ‘Next stop.’ but doesn’t say Civic Centre/University of Northumbria (or whatever the stop is called). Noticed it a few times now but I’m not sure whether I’ve just happened to be on the same vehicle.

A mistake, yes. Should be corrected tonight.

4932 and 4933 (float vehicles) are both currently allocated to Chester-le-Street, alongside 5201.
5215, 5413 and 5486 are currently on loan to Chester-le-Street - 5413 should be swapped for 5419 tonight.
Scania L94 5206 has now been sold, collected this afternoon.
Ex-Metrobus Scania OmniCity 567 has also now been sold for scrap, to be collected by Alpha tomorrow.

6003, seat re-trim. Should be completed early next week.
Been a bit of a gap since the last one completed, but these should be kicking off a bit more regularly again (especially with school holidays coming up).
6050 - completed 08/02/2019
6051 - completed 01/03/2019
6004 - completed 22/03/2019

Thanks Dan, hopefully they can get them all done by end of August, and hopefully repaints will be done too throughout the holidays, with less buses needed.
