Why can't there be a service between Consett and Bishop that cuts out Durham!
If I wanted to go look at some lights I would have stayed in IKEA

Good to see them back in business however I still think ADL make a better product, been on two of the new E400's on the X30 and I personally thought they were excellent although I will say I do a small soft spot for a few of the Angel Streetdecks as a couple of them have a bit of oomphh about them.
Also with having a bit more time to do things with have a week off I took rare opportunity to go a bit scenic with my photos of the E400's, I must be feeling a tad unwell.

Also noted on his twitter is one of the corporate liveried versa's has been repainted black, I have noticed 8320 has been a regular on the 6 over past week having photographed both yesterday and today, maybe an indication as to where some of the Versas will be allocated in the not so distant future.

I hope if they're redesigning brands on the Versa's then the fleet numbers will be in order, they seem all over. anyone know which Versa is in for repaint? - it could be a advert which is going on the Versa too?
8319, should come out in Beamish livery.

It's not Lumiere, tonight. Preparations have made traffic heavier than usual but there is a collapsed manhole on Leazes Road, near new Elvet and there was a serious accident on Margery Lane, this afternoon, requiring someone to be cut out of their car, which would have taken the overload beyond tipping point.

Isn't Beamish closed this time of year though, I only say that as the driver I had on the 8 this morning turned left at the entrance rather than going in as I expected.

Pretty sure it's open all year round.
Thinking about it, I've been there over the winter period a few times over the years.

Nope. We've been in December, before.

Lack of driver usually, whether this be through a no-show, or previous incident on the drivers shift.

It's a vehicle either broken down or so severely delayed that it can't make it to the right place at the right time. If it's the message about the 50, one passed me, on the way into Durham, at 16:05, either 5 minutes early or 25 minutes late. i saw the tweet about the 15:57 not running, so I'm guessing 25 minutes late.
This time yesterday, GNE were terminating services at County hall and running shuttles to the bus station so they could turn around again without being too badly delayed.
With 5230/32 now at Deptford and on the 56, have some of the B9s left for refurbishment?

It was the post about the 50 that made me think of it although I've seen them post that phrase before. What confused me was the fact that I'd it was a breakdown, they usually say "due to a breakdown" or if it's a delay they say something like "due to delays on the inbound journey", which is why I thought operational issues would be neither of those things?
(15 Nov 2019, 6:20 pm)big mac wroteIt could also just depend on who's writing the post.

My own thoughts are that it's an easy cop out for them.
It could mean many things, but experience/cynicism gives me the impression that the vagueness of it indicates that its something to do with maintenance or a rota issue.
Looks easier on the eye than something along the lines of a 'breakdown' or 'lack of available drivers'.

Yes no doubt they will end up with the red arrow B9s on non front line services; replacing some of the B7s

Though, in fairness, there were no tracks for any train to run on, earlier this evening.

That's why I just don't travel by train anymore, for the places I usually travel to it's easier, faster and cheaper to just fly, or if we have time we just take the car.
Plus, if I wanted to sit on an ironing board for a few hours, I'd just do a few laps on the 26 rather than pay LNER for the 'privilege' of riding an Azuma!
I suppose the only downside would be not being able to get a PlusBus ticket to explore the area

I wonder if the regulation that's left on the rails, means they can't bull$hit3 passengers with pithy excuses?
Tocs: 'Missed your last connecting train - here's a complementary taxi to counter the inconvenience'.
'Delayed over 30mins or more? You can apply for delay repay'.
Bus ops: 'soz N that, operational issues mean you're gonna have to pay for a taxi home or arrange a lift, cos we have cancelled the last bus'.
'Due to operational issues, you're going to have to hang around for half an hour and wait for the next one as we've span it round at Gateshead'
As frustrating as it may be, I appreciate the apparent transparency offered by the tocs in situations like this. Rather than patter which could mean anything and everything and doesn't help the passenger at all.
