Also looks like the Scania's won't see service again at Deptford... i can't even remember the PVR's before COVID-19 so can't compare some of them, but i would think the drop in the PVR would allow these and a few more of the Omnicities to get withdrawn.


Will the X6/X7/X20 interwork still?, thinking more of the X20 getting delayed at Durham etc, also 3 more Solo's need to be repainted, unless they're split and X20 gets Streetlites in X-Lines livery?

May see X20 upgraded to singles with the extension.....

Hopefully L94 wont be back out. Sad to see them go,but long overdue

Ye, i just edited my post, to include the X20 likely to be upgraded to Streetlites haha - i wonder if this is where the Red Kite streetlites (refurbished?) are supposed to go?, the X-Lines livery would look good on a Streetlite mind.

Weren’t the Red Kites meant for the 35 when the Streetdecks (finally) arrive at Consett? 

Are there are refurbished spare single deck buses that could be for the X20?

It was never confirmed, but was confirmed they would go to Deptford, but with the above changes, the PVR drops - so other buses could go on the services until those Streetlites come free, as the new buses are now arriving late Summer.

Dan already mentioned a few months ago that the red kite streetlites are not going on the 35, I was thinking at the time that those streetlites would go on the 55

Well they a few to spread around  no doubt all will become clear soon as Streetdecks nigh on complete.

Deptford to gain the 8 Streetlites from the Red Kite (confirmed) - personally now, i think these will go on the new X20 service now after a small refurbishment.

6149 - 6154 to Riverside for the Loop

Red Arrow B9's will move to a Newcastle service due to the upgraded Euro 6 engine.


Most/all the Omnidekka's will move to replace the Plaxton President's and the East Lancs Myllennium Vyking's.

3 spare streetdecks from the X21 are spare - after they repainted them (4th one will be spare, once the new streetdeck arrives for the route)

3 spare Citaro's from the 26/27.

The PVR of the X21 is 8 not 4.

Surely a better home for the ex Red Kite streetlites is the 61 and brand it Drifter with the 60 batch.

Edit: The 60 and 61 appear to be interworking on Sundays so it seems the 61 will be Drifter so they'll need something there.

The 21 to Arnison is blatently an attempt to take on the 64, with a 10 minute service between there and Durham with the 50 and X20.

Does the X20 need anything bigger than Solo? There should be a few spare from the Peterlee network which could easily be refurbished. There's not really anywhere for them to go and I can't see the Little Coaster or anywhere else getting them.

Problem I feel that likely led to that decision is the expansion made to the Arnison Centre in recent times with shopping in Durham City Centre on the decline with the likes of M&S and Wilko moving to the Arnison Centre and other retailers closing their stores in the City Centre, Topshop/Topman supposedly will not be reopening their Durham store (or Darlington).

Retail parks seem to be on the rise in many places especially as you can often more or less drive right up to the door and usually park for free and offerings can be better in some cases depending what you're after, would you rather drive to the Arnison Centre and park for free or drive into Durham sit in traffic and pay a minimum of £2 for the pleasure.

It's been a long 9 weeks I know that ha.

I m not surprised the 55 is withdrawn. I did the journey from Pools to SUN a few times and it’s far too long. Train much better option.

Not sure, i think we will see temporary allocations on some routes until new buses arrive.

Maybe enough people weren't using the 26?, i haven't been that way for a while so, like the 14, not sure on passenger numbers.

The Arnison one for the 21 is odd. Traffic around the Arnison can be a bit troublesome (a la the Team Valley and MetroCentre services) .Why increase commuting time on your flagship commuter route? I don't see it lasting.

Re - the 25 - yet another bus routed through golden corridor Low Fell. Birtley isn't entirely cut off from the QE (just the North End of Portobello etc) which requires a 23 to Wrekenton or a walk down to Durham Road to catch the 28. Birtley does maintain its link to Bensham Hospital (surprisingly).

Not surprised on the 26 - I can fly to Paris quicker than it meanders it way through to Newcastle.

stagecoach don’t operate 12 evenings Sundays and bank holidays and at present there’s no 12 at all

No service Saturday past Sainsbury’s if there’s no 33 or 55. Stagecoach 12 isn’t currently running

I would imagine that Stagecoach will change their timetables soon... really they should do it soon.


They did say, that some services are running temp timetables at some parts of the day, the 33 might run on a Saturday soon.

Like said above, you still have the 13.

Ye, Martjin confirmed that buses will start to move to their proper depots from Friday night and continue over the weekend.

The Citaros on the X84/X85 might of moved already, maybe with a few more.

Barley Mow, Portobello, Vigo, Portmeads... All within a few minutes walk from the route of the 25.

The 25 to QE might work OK with the 56 and X1 being fairly frequent from Wrekenton.
Can't see it being much fun on the way back from the QE.

Nope the 13 doesn’t serve blind lane. So as it stands there’s no go north east or stagecoach service on Saturdays towards Sainsbury’s and the Barnes

Stagecoach will bring the 12 back, just not sure when, i would of thought on the 1st June.

What about Arriva, are there services going back to normal soon?
