(03 Jan 2014, 9:33 pm)Dan wrote That's a great deal of money for what it's worth, though. If the Pronto is in line to receive investment next year, it's an awful lot of expense...
While I do not use the service regularly, I have never encountered a journey which has operated late. Obviously services do frequently run late so I must be lucky in that sense, but it can't be that bad... I have had the misfortune of waiting around an hour for the X7 to turn up...
The pronto is in line for replacements this year in the near future, as it was supposed to get Mercs in Jan, this now aint happening but it still needs other buses. You must be lucky , at least 3 prontos have broken down mid journey since last week

(03 Jan 2014, 9:37 pm)Dan wrote Precisely. There always seems to be a spare vehicle at Bishop Auckland bus station, and no doubt this is to cover for vehicles if they are going to arrive late. The passenger is not affected.
The bus should always leave bishop on time as there is 1 spare plus another spare/taxi bus. PVR 8 For X21 n 18, crook allocated 10. 3877 n 3879 were on X21 yesterday

Yeah, I didn't want to say anything but I could of sworn I saw 3869 on the X25 yesterday. Can we class that as an odd working now since its usual allocation is a B10 of Scania? I suppose it can be any northern veichle as its an unbranded route.

Could have sworn that the M-Ticket branded Lolyne is a daily allocation, alongside B10BLEs...

Just a random thought...I wonder when GNE will muck about with Sunderland(North) again, someone should open a book and take bets
RE: Go North East - Latest
A Go North East supervisor Gary Wheatley has confirmed that the Cobalt Clipper Citaros are going onto Pronto service X21. If this is indeed wrong then don't blame it on me

Weren't Crook told earlier this week that they aren't getting the former "Cobalt Clipper" Citaros, according to pdiddy?
A lack of communication means everyone is thinking different things, with most not being aware of the most up-to-date plan.

I should be back in Chester le Street in time to see if it is on the 13.24 and will edit this post around 13.35 to advise if it is still out on 34's.
Edit: Update 8236 is still out on 34's departed Red Lion at 13.24 due at Coral's 13.49.

Maybe, im not saying its 100% correct. Its just what a Supervisor said. Im not going to say if its wrong or right. Although what I am going to say is if the X21 gets busy at times, why downgrade to a single decker? But like the X7, if the buses cant handle the route very well then why aren't they not been replaced? They cant be unless a new investment is made as all the 'Northern' deckers are been planned to be withdrawn. The only decent buses are the Trident Plaxton Presidents which doesn't look like it will happen so its either Single Deckers OR keep its current buses. Which service needs an upgrade the most is the only possible way to look at this problem.

I think X21/X30/X31/X70/X71 all need some more reliable buses, however the Citaro's are going to WearTees Xpress, according to the GNE management on this site. I'm wondering if maybe Red Arrows could get a update this year, which could then allow some B9's onto X21 and possibly a couple onto X30/X31/X70/X71 with a mixed single/decker allocation and branding for West Durham Swift.

Wouldn't it be great if single deckers were successful on the West Durham Swift services this year? With depot standardisation in mind, a potential Citaro upgrade for the "Lime", and of course the believed investment into "Crusader" service 27 later this year, does anyone else see Citaros potentially going to Stanley?

RE: Go North East - Latest
8305 is now back in service at Chester le Street on the Lambton Worm with the branding missing from the off site.

Depot standardisation? What is this all about?
So crusader receives new vehicles and the Citaros go to Stanley for X30/X31/X70/X71? It begs the question as to why remove the omnicitys last year.
