I hate to say it but also and unpopular opinion 

The Cobalt & Coast Volvo B9 are what I'd call a proper refurbishment. They had the whole lot done to it. 
Tables, New USB, New Flooring, Completely done on the inside, New Seats, Lift up seats at the back

Everything done after that has just been a copy past. New Livery & NSA updated (New seats on some)

It just feels like GNE at one point had a plan to do everything the same. A whole refurbishment but for some reason that dropped off

Crusader was New Livery, Seats & USB

Durham Diamond New Livery, New Seats (not sure on USB)

Cityrider New Livery, New Seats

StreetLite were just a Livery update

This ain't to say its never gonna happen. I just wanna know why Cobalt & Coast was the only brand to get the whole wack

Covid

GNE never had a plan for refurbishments hence why there's about 5 different designs at least. The ones lately aren't a refurbishment though.

Yes, they came out of the ADL E400s - swapped because ADL had mistakenly fitted the wrong type of table to them.

Exactly correct, the subsequent refurbishments aren't refurbishments at all. The 27/56/10 retrims are rubbish compared to the Cobalts. Cheap and nasty, TVT users are far happier with 6304/5/7

It's the red moquette that does for me on a light blue interior, would've not looked as bad if they used the blue moquette that the Voltra Yutongs have, certainly would've been easier on the eye. 

I also have to say having been on those Streetdecks on the 10's just over a week ago that they suited the routes quite well and did also hear positive comments from other passengers who questioned why the "Green Ones" could not be of this standard.

I'd imagine that will be the reason. But if they were going to invest, it wouldn't surprise me if they went for the E400MMC as Hexham staff are already familiar with the vehicle type not forgetting that there's a subfleet already at Riverside for the X9/X10.

Yes, this is exactly why they were there. Now most of the B9s have returned, 6304/5/7 have transferred to Washington this morning for services 26/50.

6084 and 6085 should be back in service on Monday or Tuesday, which is when two further Omnidekka will be displaced.

Why wasn't the Connection 4 Citaros refurbished when the rest were, yes they were around 5-6 years younger but surely they could have put some USBs in. What buses will get USBs next, City Rider, East Durham Explorer, Drifter, Red Kite Ranger, 58, Loops, Voyagers, former Saltwell parks and other corporate livery buses not to mention the current buses with charges that don't work like the Prince Bishops and Country Ranger etc.

The CityRiders already have USB and sockets, at least on the upper deck.

Exactly. The number of times that I've got the 27 to South Shields and then get the 20 to Sunderland or get it to Heworth and get the 35A to charge my phone. Not to mention I got 3 Enviro 400's yesterday and only 1 of them had chargers that worked.

Voltage of the usb sockets is so low it takes ages to charge anything, you cant really use your device whilst plugged in if you want any charge, your better off having a portable power bank with you than relying on the usb sockets

Because they're just your standard USB-A, now don't get me wrong if I want to play on my phone while it's charging but I will gladly just look out the window for the journey and let it charge if I have to. That's why I think there should be one USB-A and one USB-C charging port on the back of each seat for quicker charging speeds. I was on the X46 the other day and I played on my phone for the whole journey it still went up around 30% and I rather that than a power pack.

The ones on the newer buses (69 onwards) are useable, any older than that are beyond useless. I used the seatback ones on the X21 B5s and I actually lost charge over the 90 minute journey

Actually, I got the X21 yesterday to Durham, on a X21 Branded bus and the chargers on the tables worked fine for me and charged my phone, I did play on it and was listening to music through it but it did increase in battery only around 15% but its better than nothing but this was just 1 USB out of them all on the bus and the 7 that are branded to the X21

The ones at the tables are fine as they're just standard 240v sockets with USB ports, I'm on about the ones in the back of the seats

I still find USB charging ports on buses hit & miss, sometimes it works like a charm, other days you may as well not bother.

The other week for example I was using Transdev and the B9 I had on the DalesBus 59 charged fine but then I got on one of the 36 liveried B5TL's and it hovered between 1% above and 1% under the percentage of charge I had prior to boarding but at the same time I had another B5TL earlier that day and it worked a bit better.

Well im yet to find a usb on a bus that charges my phone.

It's such a shame tht the 3 pin plugs one were scrapped

Have you ever been on a Country Ranger or Prince Bishop?

The 3 pin sockets with USBs either don't work or the never on
