I'd hazard a guess at a PVR of 3 for each of them

Tbh on the safe side I would put all 8 up there, for 2 spares.

Wonder where all the other solo's will go

The fact Dan said 'most' will transfer to Percy Main, I reckon 7 of the 8 will move.

I am still intrigued what will replace services on the 9&5, as I don't think Citaros will cover it as they seem to be withdrawing them, and the ones they do have in service have all been in service.

I am thinking Versa's, but I wonder if they will be repainted/new interior aswell

Personally I think there's enough spare Streetlites floating around, when you consider the ones that were covering at Consett for the Country Ranger rebrand, the transfer of the remaining 16 plate Streetdecks for the 5/50 should release some, and the PVR decrease on the 20. I've said before but I think ex-Prince Bishops will go on the Drifter and the current Drifter will go on the 5/9.

5S only, mainly 723 it was scholars duplicate and not sure if it ever got as far as the interchange, seemed to appear/vanish after Boldon academy mostly
RE: Movement of 8339-8346 to Percy Main
Well unless Deptford needs spare buses but. 8342 has transferred back to Deptford as was seen on the 20. 8341 hasn't been seen since the 6th April so looks like the 19 is staying solos

They have 8306 aswell which I believe was meant to be withdrawn.

Deptford are struggling with correct allocations aswell. A prince Bishops & Purple on 60, with Corporate Solo & 8342 on the 206 and 20 respectively.
Why do 60's appear on 9 & 5 so much.

I thought the 19's requirment was for minimum of like 50/60 passengers minimum

I thought so as well. I'm sure the solos were a trial cause of bad parked cars at the fish quay. I'm guessing they just stuck them on full time
RE: Movement of 8339-8346 to Percy Main
Council need to paint more yellow lines around there as it's bad enough trying to get around in a car at times.

Area is busier than ever but no operators are reacting to it. Traffic and parking problems aren't going to go away with a piss poor level of service to there.

Nexus has extended the trial further, as early signs indicate an improvement in reliability and the Fish Quay has been omitted on fewer occasions with the revised allocation (but it’s still not great).

As such, the three surplus Streetlites have or will transfer out - 8341 & 8342 to Deptford and 8343 to Riverside to replace the final Omnicity on service 29.

8339-42 are only at Deptford to provide temporary cover for modifications to Citaros.

Wonder if they'll bother doing the seats, they're probably the number one thing that would put me off using them, they're arse-numbingly uncomfortable

I like the Citaros Seats. I find them quite comfortable.

And if they do the seats I'll be shocked they only have a couple years left. But I do wonder what modifications

Leather really doesnt help when a bus swings around a corner. normally go sliding of them

I genuinely do not understand how you find them uncomfortable.

Same imo they are more comfortable than the seats which you would find on new streetlites e.g EG Orbit

Make the road one way.  The same same direction that bus travels, with a small bit if yellow lines near car park entrance.

See, if a bus operator had their way - it would be a case of getting the council to finance and build some sort of bus lane or gate, get everyone to pay a small fortune to park and force people to make the switch. Then ask the PTE to subsidise some sort of bus service.
Which may or may not last.

Whereas from the outside in, the most obvious way to encourage people to make the switch - would be for the operators to do some research, find out where the demand/flow is and take the commercial punt.

tbf the place isn't exactly far from the centre of North Shields. Instead of forcing buses along there imo they should be looking at ways to connect it better to the town centre.

I know it's radical but something like building some escalators from the bottom upto towards where the registry office is would be better. Would help with the regeneration aswell and connect Howard Street which are going to be bars / restaurants aswell with the fish quay. It'd also open more parking at the top of the hill out of the way helping the traffic problems aswell.

If you removed the problem with the hill then it's really not far but with the hill there people won't walk it, not to mention the ferry is supposedly moving along there aswell.

Can't say I've ever seen anyone slide off a seat as the bus swings around a corner?
