Tyne and Wear Metro

I read somewhere that it is a PVR of 22 and some spare with the Euro 5 min - surly Stanley Travel & JH will only be able to provide 5 each max

I won't be getting on any journeys operated by a surly Stanley Taxis or JH Coaches. The last thing I'd want to do is board a bad-tempered, unfriendly, and grumpy bus.

Sometime in July. Can't remember the dates but it's to replace the Tanners Bank bridge. Surprisingly they didn't do it between Tynemouth & North Shields

Imagine it's to do with where they can switch the wires off. I guess North Shields is part of the Tanner Bank block though.

It's possible. But what about when the wall collapsed early this year. The line was shut for 4 days between North Shields & Tynemouth

On https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/nor...o-23131431 it says,

"It is not a quick job to repair the damage. We need to put scaffolding in place, turn the power off and that would affect a much wider area than just these two stations."

So it seems they just left the wires on then, that was more about the wall collapsing on a train or the wall collapsing and a train running straight into it.

From 16th July I believe (starting a week before the schools finish) - they will probably do some other work on the line at the same time.
RE: Tyne and Wear Metro
Noticed that Metro are advertising a 'special ticket' for the Ed Sheeran gig at the Stadium of Plight this weekend. It's £5.70 from whichever station you purchase it at, and is essentially an All Zones DaySaver: https://www.nexus.org.uk/news/item/speci...sunderland

There's also a video telling passengers that it's the best ticket to purchase: https://twitter.com/My_Metro/status/1531660617345404928

When I was at Heworth earlier though, I noticed there was also a board advertising this, despite it *not* being the cheapest option for anyone travelling from that station. A Zone B+C DaySaver would cover the journey.

I'm surprised they're blatantly misleading customers like this. I wonder how many non-regular customers would use the Metro and purchase this ticket, literally thinking it is the best (or even only) option for the journey. I know Metro are skint at the minute, but come on...

The shyster decease must be spreading like Covid. Perhaps we all need to put out wallets and purses on lockdown to stop the spread of shystering and to save our money from being swindled from us by nefarious public transport operators.

Let’s face it, if they had taken true inspiration from the shysters in the region, they would be running a limited Sunday service to allow their drivers to attend the concert.

Could just vote with your wallet and just not buy a ticket, let's be honest no-one will be checking tickets. Might aswell join in with the spread.

No doubt there's going to be trouble on the North Tyneside loop aswell (again), bank holiday weekend all the staff dealing with the concert in Sunderland and no-one up here with kids off school. It's bad enough outside of holidays nevermind when they're off.

And the first week of the closure the schools are still on, so I wonder which operators they will get to run the replacement bus service.

Have they got the drivers to run it? There's a whole heap of cancellations on their normal timetabled work again today.

3.2 million to be spent upgrading P&R sites in hope that people will...... well.... Park and ride!

Bet a large chunk of that will be going on fixing N'land Park the top floors have been shut for over a year now since the local yobs smashed all the glass on the stairs.

Wouldn't park in it personally, it's not safe and a few lights and CCTV won't change that.
