Thanks. Any idea when it will enter service?

Peter Hogg seems to have a small fleet.

It was painted a few months ago into red, I believe they've had a few mechanical issues with it but it'll probably be used for their new public service contracts alongside the other WF and the E200s I'd imagine.

Most of JH's single decks are red for some reason. A few mechanical issues doesn't sound like a great start for the new public service work. The WF and E200s currently do scholars trips, I'm not sure if JH are still doing those from September though. Expect from being on scholars for a while the interiors are probably a bit of a state.

JH have lost all of their Nexus school services, GNE picked up 61.

I notice Nexus has been getting some stick despite this being a GNE thread! GNE cuts mean Nexus have to step in. [Nexus] are not perfect but I tell ya what, bring back the PTE level of control seen before Oct 86. Those too young to remember, pick ya selves a timetable from EBay and admire the frequency of such a comprehensive network. The Tories destroyed it overnight.

Seems to be no peak time 55 runs, they are very popular, quite strange

I don't see why the 861, couldn't run dead to Doxford on an evening to Operate a 16:07 service.

The X20 diverts into Doxford Park on a morning and afternoon peak to cover the loss of the 55.

The Stagecoach X1 also runs.

Why couldn't a Tacho'd B9TL be allocated instead? Yeah not ideal for lack of facilities but way better than leaving punters behind (or worst case only on common sections with the X93 further down). Arriva use normal service buses on the 685/X15/X18 absolutely fine.

I would rather a bus then a coach

46 went to Polwarth Drive, as it does now.

It was grouped with the 45 and 47, I believe. 45 went to Gosforth Park while the 47 terminated somewhere in Fawdon.

All three were operated by Tyne and Wear PTE.

i must say i thought the 46 didn't start until the early existence of northumbria  motor services? I certainly don't remember seeing it at the Haymarket when waiting for the 397/44 home on a Saturday afternoon, although that was almost 40 years ago!

It started at Central Station, IIRC.

I think it passed over from Tyne and Wear PTE to United sometime in the early 80s, probably coinciding with the renumbering of the 397/398.

The 46 was around in 1971, which is the earliest timetable I have.

I’m surprised that GNE hasn’t put the new timetables up as a pdf, as looking through the format there got is confusing the passengers, nexus site has the pdf’s but that’s for GNE services which enter the Tyne and Wear boundary only and not County Durham, DCC website doesn’t really show much these on the bus side of things, mostly just a link to the bus operators website.
