Disruptions and driver shortages

RE: Disruptions and driver shortages
I'm half expecting the Iraqi Information Minister (there's a reference for the kids) to start announcing GNE cancellations

'Everything is fine, there are no cancellations, all is good, they are lies - the evil axis of Stagecoach and Arriva are behind this. We have lots of drivers, too many drivers, we sent them all home. Customers are clapping and cheering our timetabled buses and our value fares and world class speedy contactless'

I thought the Libyian Information Minister was just as convincing.

They've been posting cancellations from Stockton off and on for the past week or so now, always tends to be a small number of journeys on the 8 and 9 with the 5A being slightly more worse for wear. I suppose at least there is still the 5 running half hourly, only those in Hutton Gate in Guisborough missing out, which is still served by the 28 tbf.

The following full journeys on the 50 will not operate:
  • From Durham: 11:36, 15:10, 15:40, 16:10, 16:45, 17:15, 17:50, 18:25
  • From South Shields: 9:50, 15:23, 16:30, 17:05, 18:05, 19:38
It seem the 16:45 & 18:25 ran

18:25 was seemingly ran by an Angel who ran dead to Durham, then they switched buses with 6302 at CLS

6322. It ran from CLS to Durham in service on the 50 then back to CLS connecting with 6302 there.

I mean it's good the journeys ran after all, but too little too late for those who checked the list last night or this morning, then decided not to bother!

There is still a 2 hour wait tomorrow for a 50.

With 3 Peak Time 4's cancelled from Heworth.

Just wait until the season starts...
People can't get to the match on the bus cos of poor public transport, operator complains about traffic impacting on the already poor public transport and cancels more services due to late running, making it even poorer...

Mind, I've got no idea what's causing so much disruption in Sunderland. Plenty of buses cancelled there due to late running too.

Well the 61 was pretty much hourly to every 2 hours this afternoon, with massive delays on the 60 aswell.

My friend sent me a photo from Park lane and the 20/X20 stand was down past the 35 stand, there must have been 60 people in that queue minimum.
RE: Disruptions and driver shortages
Our young Martijn was on one of his very very very late 21s which ran packed through low fell NIS today

Not sure what the regulation is like but the reliability today was woeful not helped by the traffic lights at Birtley three tuna.

6 21s passed throug low fell without anyone being able to get on

We after the match last night the 28b from Wilson square never turned up. Couldnt get on app. So got the 21 which was rammed. Left people at gateshead as it was so full with people sitting on stairs  if this happened during the season I'll be going to nexus and asking for mu $25 quid magpie mover money back!

Oh and another think I read on facebook ( pinch of salt taken) was that earlier in week a driver on the 29 forgot.ro.gk to.elson square. From the post those waiting managed to speak to a gne lead driver who in there words was very rude but cause they said they werent moving he drove them to kibblesworth  himself....

no idea, just what was on facebook. I was kind of wondering if it'd managed to get the app to work i would have seen the 28b sitting at market street empty
RE: Disruptions and driver shortages
No sign of a cancellations list, today, so all must be hunky dory, only so far, the x21 we rushed to be ready for hasn't run and, while waiting for a 6, a 21 only going as far as Chester has passed us.
RE: Disruptions and driver shortages
"X-lines X1 | X1A:

From Newcastle: The 12:13 will terminate at the Galleries 12:45, 14:33, 17:53, the 20:00 will start service at the Galleries 20:28. "
Can someone translate this into English, please?

Yes, thats the one that was cancelled from Newcastle.

At least a list is up, now.
RE: Disruptions and driver shortages
I must really commend GNE for the layout of cancellations, even tho there are still some bad ones e.g

93 - From Retail World: 16:05, 16:25, 16:45, 17:05, 17:25.

From my looking on the list I don't believe other than whats happening with the 93 there is many dual cancellations if any.

Last 50 from Durham's cancelled but from what i've seen thats really about it

Is the bar really that low these days? There's still 190 full/partial cancellations today from Go North East.

Isn't that down from like 500

I'm not sure whether your looking at the same list as me but it's absolutely horrendous still considering they butchered a large chunk of the network over a week ago and none of the school services are running currently.

I know there's driver's on holidays etc atm but there's also a lot more school work coming in soon, who only knows who's going to be driving these not to mention a strike coming up at CLS.

It's like it's never ending it's been going on part of a year and there seemed to be confidence that there was a surplus of driver's and there'd be no cancellations after the changes which hasn't materialised.

GNE won 61 contracts, i don't know if that is just schools or both work and schools however with 61 extra contracts they are going to need like 70-75 extra drivers.
