Yeah I like the new logo. I also prefer the side logo to be located above the drivers window, but I think some of the advert frames are too far forward to leave enough space for the logo.

Nothing has been done to them yet by the look of the photos, so no cost incurred!

There isn't an unlimited supply of buses from Go Ahead London, it depends on contract renewals - perhaps GNE were advised that if they needed buses in the next few months, they needed to take these now.

There are still a lot of Scania Omnidekka in the fleet approaching 20 years old.

(18 Aug 2023, 6:44 pm)Storx wrote Not sure about that mind, those buses have a value and I can't see GoAhead London just giving them away. They might not have a value on the accounts but that doesn't mean that some budgets haven't been passed around to fund the replacements in London, from GoNorthEast's budget, since they're gaining something.

Something with no value sold for ÂŁ2k is ÂŁ2k profit for GoAhead London which balances out the new bus depreciation partially.

I read on here a few months back that Go Ahead now deal with surplus vehicles centrally.

So I assume that they are offered to other Group companies such as GNE first, before they are offered for sale outside the group.
Internal transfers would surely be at book value, otherwise there is a lot of unnecessary time going to be spent by accountants moving money around for little gain.

Aye I read that, wonder if they're might be some, more for the London side rather than GNE. As arguably if you 'give away' the buses from London then they're going to take a hit and understate their profit and loss.

Wonder if on paper, they might 'Sell' the buses to somewhere who then 'Sell or give away' the buses to GoNorthEast to balance it out.

Mind interesting to note the ÂŁ63m impairment for GoNorthEast because it's in a dire state and they have questions whether it can ever make a profit in 2022 in the Go-Ahead Holding Limited and is the only regional company that's performing well below pre-Covid.

Thanks, that rings a bell.
So they belong to GNE now?
RE: Go North East - Secondhand Deckers 2022
As the Volvo B9TLs recently drafted into Go North East have not yet been refurbished, even though some have been repainted, I rode 6154 instead.

This is a seemingly rare example of a batch of buses which still has blue moquette with the word Go super-imposed on it.

I wondered why I didn't see the Green Arrow E200-MMCs on route 96. Then I spotted some on Flickr helping out with the Bee Network launch.

Could the thread title be updated from deckers to vehicles, to save having a new thread for second hand saloons?

Looks like there are going to be at least 14 coming and if i'm right it also looks like the interiors have been refurbished looking at the photo.

There were 17 Streetlites bought.

How many 10 reg Versa's are left in service? (GNE allocation fleet list hasn't been updated since May)

Hopefully they might also replace the Berries Versa's and have the 2/2A as GNE

Or use on the 33/39/39A/38B so its fully Streetlite.

Solo's from the those services, replace older solo's in the fleet.
Ooo Friend, Bus Friend.
RE: Go North East - Second-hand vehicle acquisitions
I for one welcome these 10 year old Streetlites, such is the build quality and comfort of the Streetlite combined with their harsh past lives and GNEs impeccable record of engineering of late
Wistfully stuck in the 90s

Especially if it's to replace the '10 plate Versas which are actually quite a nice bus still, they maybe getting on a bit and taking a reliability hit, but I'm not sure a 3 year newer Streetlite is much of a difference at over 10 years old.

It'll be interesting to see how knackered these are as Sheffield isn't exactly the flattest of places and hills and Streetlite's are generally a rather unfavourable mix. You just have to look at the state of Arriva's examples in Cleveland, which are newer aswell.

Not sure they'll be looking after them with pristine care knowing that they were going off lease soon either.

Most have had new engines prior to purchase.

Yeah that's fair, not surprised to be honest.

Depending on which lessor First returned these to, there can be quite stringent terms about their condition.

If they aren’t of a standard deemed acceptable by the lessor, an agent can arrange for repairs to bring them up to an accepted standard (which could be quite favourable to the operator buying the bus!)

Are these Newcastle CAZ compliant? May give an indication of which depot they're destined for, even if to displace something else.
