Never thought I'd see the day of it opening with the delays

Yeah I just looked on Google Maps not a single extra stand literally just the building changed, nothing has been changed road wise
(24 Oct 2023, 8:24 pm)Unber43 wrote I was expecting it to be pretty much exactly the same.
Anyone got a stand layout for the old bus station?
(24 Oct 2023, 9:23 pm)Unber43 wrote wasn't there another proposal for the bus station but someone called it an absolute disgrace or smth
(24 Oct 2023, 9:36 pm)Unber43 wrote speaking of the P&R its halved in use since 2019Probably because Durham is an absolute crock!

I can't be arsed with trekking up and down mountaints just to go to run of the mill shops.
Plus Durham seems to attract a particularly arrogant type of student that makes it all the more off-putting. Especially those from far away lands that don't understand the concept of queueing and just barge their way through.
And to top it off the Spoons on North Road closed so there's literally no reason to go now. The Walkergate one just isn't as good.

(24 Oct 2023, 10:05 pm)Storx wrote Doesn't help you can save the bus part of it and just go to Arnison and save time and there's ample parking in the centre with, I believe, free parking after 3pm now anyway so absolutely no point in wasting you're time using the P&R.
Other than workers, I don't understand why anyone would use it tbh.
(24 Oct 2023, 11:25 pm)streetdeckfan wrote We used to use it all the time, but now we either pay to park up Crossgate since we're rarely there over half an hour, or just park for free down by the river after 2pm.We did too, however we wanted to go one sunday and the P&R doesn't run on a Sunday so we just parked in the ODEON carpark (or Wilkinsons (i think) is what it was called) and it was much cheaper so we always park down and just walk.

The only real difference from the old layour is that the shops are gone and the passenger concourse is closer to North Road so there is a bit more space for buses to manoeuvre.
And hopefully you can walk around without tripping over buckets.
(25 Oct 2023, 10:10 am)streetdeckfan wrote Have they announced what the toilets will be like?Yeah on one of there plans they literally labled it "pay station" or something like that.
Presumably they won't be free, and now that Spoons is closed opposite you'll have no choice but to pay up. I haven't tried the new pub out that's replaced it yet, so not sure what they're like for people popping in and out just to use them.
