What's it with people constantly wanting deckers on that route. The amount of people I've seen saying it needs deckers then saying they need Newcastle MMC is annoying

I think ATM with how tight things in Newcastle are, if Stockton were to get some of the displaced ALX400s from within the group and prove that it is worth doing then maybe in a few years, Stockton could be considered for newer deckers, however saying as there is a shortfall of at least ten double decks in slatyford alone I wouldnt hold your breath

The 36/37/38 are flagship Stagecoach routes, they should not be ran by battered old minging ALX400's. They'll be going to the scrap yard where they deserve to be.
RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
From what I can see, Stockton already have two deckers anyway (19680 and 19681).

I certainly can't see them getting new buses or with the amount of ALX400s still in service elsewhere older E400s for a few years

I'm not sure they need bigger buses tbh. The fact they've just had a frequency reduction (8 buses combined to 6 buses combined) probably says that they're not exactly as busy as some people make out. Seems rather counter productive to do that otherwise imo.

It’s a shame for passengers though as they’re going to have to spend more money on tickets that are valid on both GNE and stagecoach. Can’t ever see the 100 coming back either.

In fairness, the Metrocentre has gone down hill so much in recent years, I can't imagine there's exactly much demand for it compared to the past. The X66 has had massive reductions in recent years aswell (used to be 8 BPH with bendy buses down to 6 BPH with half the time midibuses). That's a canny reduction aswell.

I have just spotted 11776 on the 22 and looks basically the same as the *116* batch

I think the plan is to have diesel, gas and electric, at least for a while, which will be... i n t e r e s t i n g... but i can only really report on what the rumour mill says.
The rumour mill also said the 4 was going into Gilley Law from November.

Ah, will there be space for electric chargers and the gas filling station?, unless they buy extra land?
