Sorry no pics yet

Which other streetlites will be allocated to Sunderland?
Ooo Friend, Bus Friend.
RE: Go North East - Second-hand vehicle acquisitions
According to posts on my Flickr Secondhand Streetlites 5511-5520 are meant to be becoming driver training vehicles.

To be honest I believe it when I see it considering they still have the bandit screens and the fact they had a full interior refurbishment.

Who needs heroes anyway? Villians have more fun.

Ten would seem inordinately excessive for a relatively small operation.

Indeed. Perhaps as previously mentioned there may be a number to carry advertisements rather than trainers. Time will tell, as ever speculation rules the roost on forums.

Given the large number of StreetLite's in the GNE fleet it would seem sensible to train the drivers on them.

If that were true surely you'd use the older vehicles such as drifter examples and put the refurbished ones on the 60

I'm not sure it would make sense to purchase buses from a dealer, and then refurbishment them, to do the role either when you could get some life expired Enviro 400's or B9's from London to do the same thing which Arriva pretty much done.

I know GNE like spunking money up a tree, but this is next level stupidity.

Then again, with this management, I wouldn't be surprised one bit Shy

I agree with you, My point is that they must have (and should have) a plan to put them into service when they have refurbished them...I just used the drifters as an example as many people on here complain of the state of them both inside and out the bus.

Dw, I wasn't arguing against you. Was just adding onto your post instead of saying the exact same thing, 2 minutes later. It would make even less sense to have them around when there's the awful Versa's lingering around imo, never mind the Drifters especially when these new buses are Euro 6 and according to Dan in the past, have new engines fitted aswell.

Indeed, but 10? As many say 5369-76 would be better used given their age and condition

I wonder if the yellow streetlights could be heading for the 49 to replace the oldest Versa's and maybe a return of Blaydon Racers brand hence the Yellow livery.
RE: Go North East - Second-hand vehicle acquisitions
well apparently these new buses have USBs been refurbed yet the 60 cannot get anything and its a flagship route

well...they cannot even get 6 out of the 8 drifters onto the 60 as 4 are on the South Tyneside circuit.

When you see something branded on the South Tynesides that generally means that they're in limp mode, and are so slow they can't keep to time on the 60, or 20/65 if they're Prince Bishops.

I wouldn't say the 60 was a flagship route
Wistfully stuck in the 90s
RE: Go North East - Second-hand vehicle acquisitions
Apparently ex-First 47543 has been left parked at Gordano services for over a week now.

No idea where it's supposedly heading.

I'd add a screenshot, but well... I can't anymore.

I certainly would, I would say

X1, X10, X21, 4, 10, 21, 53, 54, 56, 60

the 49/49A/97 could have been but theyve just been dumped

but 5369-76 aren't Euro VI so can't go into Newcastle which is surely essential for driver training buses.

The 21 is GNE's flagship route.

10, 20, 56, X1 are the other 4 main ones though imo.

I wouldn't count anything else as really flagship.

Stagecoach Newcastle: 39/40/62/63
Arriva Northumbria: Unsure, all could be for a shout bar the 1/2/35/57/57A
Arriva Durham County: X4/63/X66/X67/7
Stagecoach Sunderland / South Shields: Unsure, E1/E2/E6/3/4 Sunderland?
Stagecoach Teesside: 12/36/37/38

That's what I'd say for them all personally.

Stagecoach Sunderland = Highest freq. route is E1/E2/E6 (comb.) & 20

Aye good shout there, Sunderland is a bit like Arriva Northumbria really where you could probably argue for most routes other than the 8 and 18, the 3/4/13 are pretty much one combined route aswell. South Shields being similar, nothing really stands out.

Training vehicles are no longer PSV so are exempt anyways (I think).

The 60 is way busier than the 20.
