Possibly connected to the problems in Stockton earlier.

Did you manage to get a fleet number or anything.

Where was this heading

It's from a colleague.

I 'think' it's the road to Ingleby Barwick that crosses over the A66 and the bus is heading on to the A66.

Looks like it is that junction but can't imagine it would be today, surely they would've went into Stockton depot and that has just drove straight past it and is turning towards Darlington?

Wonder if it might be whatever this bus is - https://northeastbuses.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?tid=4560&pid=312087#pid312087
RE: Bus incidents
I saw it being transported by Alpha northbound on the A189 so I guess it was heading to their compound nearby. It was one of the Frquenta examples. it was in an absolute state, with possible fire damage and exterior panels missing and interior fittings being partially ripped off. I had assumed it might have been caught up in the riots tbh.

I gather it’s just the remains of accident damaged 1494 being taken away from Stockton for scrap. Very heavily stripped, not much left of it
RE: Bus incidents
I don't know if it ever went to scrap but wonder if this might be 1494? Looking at the accident damage it looks quite similar to the photo above. I'm not sure where it's been for 18 month though.

It's the only Frequenta Pulsar which has been wrote off, as far as I'm aware.

Edit: Someone beat me by seconds.

Aye, the photo was taken earlier today.

Apologies wasn't clear, I meant if it was damaged in Stockton rather than the photo. Didn't doubt that dw.

Looks like those pesky wingmirrors have been playing up again.

I tell you. NEB knew about these pesky wing mirrors before it became commonplace in the press.

Ooo Friend, Bus Friend.
RE: Bus incidents
Going to keep it blunt, but does anyone know what happened with the Pulsar at Guisborough today? Seen an empty bus with 2 ambulances outside and a paramedic passing when travelling further up the road. Just checked bus times and it appears it was 1453 on the 5.

Didn't look good, hope whoever it was okay.

Passenger passed away on the bus

Ah sad to hear, going to say didn't look too good. RIP to them.
RE: Bus incidents
See Newcastle council have put the plastic cones inform of certain bus shelters in the city centre to stop buses clipping them. From what I hear the most recent incident with a bus hitting a bus stop the whole of the shelter lifted ( including pathing stones) and collapses on the person under it. I assume they are doing health and safety on the all?
RE: Bus incidents
I'm wondering if it's the design of these new bus stops. I'm not justifying bad driving, but some of the ones in Sunderland are a lot closer to the edge of the kerb than the ones they replaced, the side without the advertisements that are most likely to be clattered by a bus pulling in. However bad design is arguably nearly as responsible for incidents as bad driving.

There seems to be a fundamental flaw with them. The one in Newcastle last time had damage that looked like the bus should be a write off.

Instead the bus was back in service in 24 hours later and was rumoured to be just a wing mirror by news reports (unsure on that).

They seem rather flimsy and extremely weak.
RE: Bus incidents
In busy cities buses manoeuvring close to the pavement for bus stops. If theres a wheelchair the driver has to try and get as close as possible. They are too far forward. I know at Deptford I've noticed a lot of panels being replaced and I cant help but think that it's due to newer drivers not starting on an easier rota instead of getting thrown straight on the 20s/60s/56s harder and busier routes.
RE: Bus incidents
The stop on North Road in Boldon Colliery heading towards Sunderland/Washington, got hit so often they've moved it back a few feet, which makes it so much easier to get into the stop with badly parked cars.

NEXUS website has a list of the stop locations, some of which are outside the city and not obvious locations for "clipping such as Shields Road Morrisons, which would indicate a structural issue with the stops themselves.

Note to this that they're all the stops with this type of shelter - https://www.google.com/maps/@54.9763595,...coh=205410&entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI0MTAxNi4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D

Assume it's all linked to the accident on Market Street a few months back.

These are the new stops that have just been installed part of the BSIP or similar scheme I think. They're all over Newcastle and Sunderland City Centres now.
