They're at Sunderland, probably for us to replace the open tops.
RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
Tried to make a seperate thread about it but it wont let me so I'll post it here instead.

Queen Victoria Road has finally re-opened both ways to traffic, and I've noticed a random bus stop plonked next to the RVI where the 47 used to go along for Haymarket, and the top St. Thomas' Street stops been removed. Anyone know if this is a mistake or if they're planning to re-route buses this way?

I can’t see the buses being rerouted as there’s stops at the bottom of St Thomas Street. I know the one at the top of St Thomas Street heading into the city was not in use and they’ve put car parking spaces there but the one at the top of the street leaving the city is now in use.

Aye, I can't see them re-routing anything either, which is why I was asking. Just seems very strange they'd just add a random bus stop there which has never been there before, and even more strange that they've placed it on a route that is now withdrawn. As I was writing this another thought popped into head; maybe it's an additional stop for ToonTour next year?

But more than likely, would just be a mistake made by the council 'cause we all know what NCC are like.
RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
Quick question, are the MANviros excluded from running on the 10/11 (South Shields-Jarrow) cus i never see them on there, but see them turn up on other services, just like the Darts

Waiting for the rest of the shed to come down snd chargers to be installed.
I see 73061 has had its number applied.
RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
I noticed at around 1130 today there was an Alpha truck towing a white E200 with Stagecoach fleet names (possibly a Man version) on the A19 North.

Would this be the apprentice training vehicle off for scrap?
RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
Looks like they've started on the other side of the Sunderland depot.

Had a walk around after work.

Edit: It has now let me add my photo.

Also 19675 has been working out of Sunderland this morning on the 18s https://www.flickr.com/photos/dansnorthe...ed-friend/

RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
Seen a post earlier saying that 5 of Sunderland's Electric buses are now at Stockton.

Been stored at Stockton until the depot is ready.

Can't find the bloody post now!

ALL BUT CONFIRMED

Slatyford are no longer getting electric buses it is too much of a hassle to get the infrastructure at Slatyford depot being an old depot. Slatyford’s 18 electric buses will now go to Stockton along with the 40 they were already getting.

Slatyford will be keeping the 09 plated 24101-24115 over the 64/65 plate 27’s as the 24’s have a Euro 6 engine and the 27’s are just scraping through the CAZ requirements. Stocktons 262’s will go to Slatyford to replace the 27’s since they’re getting the electrics that were meant for Slatyford.

That’s not how government funding works. They can’t just transfer buses to a completely different area without the express permission of central government. It’s not even in the same mayoral authority!

Just curious but where is this confirmed? Considering the bid for the buses was for the TNE area, I'm not too sure how on earth they can just go to Stockton.

The government has funded these through a process which says where they'd go, it's not for the bus operator to decide otherwise.

These buses could've went somewhere else in Newcastle (or Sunderland, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Gateshead, Durham or Northumberland) with another operator if Stagecoach decided they didn't want them. I hope to god that the North East mayoral team block this, especially considering who is in charge of Teesside which would be an own goal, even politically.

Edit: Someone else beat me to it.

I'm standing outside Stockton depot as I type this. A Yutong just arrived and is currently parked in the yard.

EDIT. It just reversed into the shed.

I know speaking last year to somebody who was clued up on the legalities of the bids, they had told me that there was very strict rules about how the buses could be used for a certain number of years. We were talking Arriva, and they were saying they'd have to ensure that they were run on the services funded for a certain percentage of their time. If that is the case, I don't see how Stagecoach could get away with not just using them on different routes, nevermind in different depots in different counties.

I’m a driver at Slatyford speaking to a union rep who said that our order has been cancelled and apparently they’re going to Stockton instead. Something to do with they need to run a big cable from near Kenton school where the electric infrastructure is to Slatyford depot which is a whole thing itself then taking the roof off the depot where they’ve done this before but had complaints from the residents near the depot for the noise so had to put the roof back on. So apparently they’re just going to give them to Stockton and take the 262’s from them.

Aye that's fair, would make sense from the Slatyford side mind. Be interesting to see if the Stockton side happens though, as I could see big problems with that. Can't see Kim etc being happy that they're losing their electric buses to Houchen.

This is totally sidewards conversation, but is there any reason why the chargers can't be fitted inside the shed? It seems pretty high to the stage it wouldn't be an issue there?

Yeah I’m sure she’ll have something to say about it, would have thought it’d be Newcastle that got the majority anyway not Stockton as Newcastle is bigger and busier than Stockton.

I’m sure the plan was to have them fitted in the shed but roof was needing to be removed due to the heat apparently which makes no sense as they’ve got open doors either end of the depot.

Wonder how long it'll take for them to install all the chargers etc at Sunderland? Last time I walked around, the other section was getting knocked down, haven't been around since then so might have a walk around tomorrow after work.

Does anyone know if there is another 262** at Slatyford? I swear I saw one in engineering at about 10:15 this morning in beachball when 26291 and 26292 were out in service on 685 and 62/63.
