So a bit of a stretch to claim its failed it's MOT and almost certain to be withdrawn.  It may be that it has an unrepairable fault but it also may be awaiting parts.  It's not unusual for a bus to be out of service for a few weeks.  Even more so with 34611 given it's been VOR for less than a week!

The electric work in the yard is now underway - around 25 charging points have been delivered so far, electric work has started.

27615 currently on the 38 that left Middlesbrough at 1130

You sure ?

36405 is based at Merthyr Tydfil, not 34605. Unless its moved very recently, of course.

So some interesting news regarding Stockton depot in the 12-18 months they will have their depot knocked down and rebuilt and by May 2025 they will have a full fleet of brand new electric buses. That should mean their current buses will transfer elsewhere or be withdrawn depending on age. I’m guessing the 262’s will go to Newcastle?

But my question is Newcastle has to be the busiest in the north east for Stagecoach yet we seem to be last for everything constantly receiving second hand buses which looks to be the case again next year. Where is this investment for Slatyford? We need a new depot for the electric buses, our current fleet of buses are not fit for purpose. It’s honestly a joke the way the company treat Slatyford.

I have heard the same that Stockton will be fully electric.

Currently, I do not think that franchising is on the cards around there as opposed to Newcastle, so maybe that has a bearing on why Stagecoach have decided to plow their money into Stockton rather than Newcastle

Surely it's more that they won ZEBRA funding for Stockton to get the electric buses whereas they have barely got anything in the NECA areas.

I don't believe a single electric bus has been bought outright, so far, outside of London.

Newcastle has had a lot of investment lately imo, even Slatyford with the massive E200MMC order not that long ago. Now Hartlepool and South Shields are a different ball game.
RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
Sunderland's last order before this was the gasbuses weren't they? Meanwhile, we've just got yet more 2700s from the darkest depths of god-knows-where, where they seemingly can't afford black paint between the windows.

Yet Newcastle, where much of the fleet is 16, 66, 69, 23 and 73-plate MMCs, is the one getting cast offs and no investment.

I think its strange how originally it was going to be half the depot that was electric, and now the whole depot is going to be electric, so something has changed in their mindset.

How many vehicles do Stockton have (or need) when the whole depot is electric, versus how many vehicles they were originally awarded due to the funding does anyone know.

Yeah was confirmed by the operations manager at Stockton on the company’s blink app. Didn’t think they were replacing every bus like.

The 69 plate 262’s should go to Newcastle to replace some of the older buses at Slatyford if they’ve got any common sense. I really can’t see them sending them somewhere else in the country where the 271/2’s at slatyford are only Euro 5 engined and from my understanding some of the 271’s may head to Hartlepool.

Apparently Inverness’s fleet have had 6 breakdowns since they entered service.

February is quite quick for Stockton's to arrive.

No doubt, they'll be Yutongs.

And realistically 5 spares is all Stockton has ran with for months, 24121 and 24169 have been off four over a year now

Wonder if these are the ones which were meant to be going to Slatyford which there's been rumours for awhile now but instead of cancelling the order or having buses sitting around for potentially years they've decided to divert them to Stockton and pay for them instead.

And when did they enter service?

Slightly off topic, but if GNE still had their peterlee outstation that would be a good little depot to have E100 Electric Buses most of them finish about 6 apart from the 202/265/208 (at the time) which finished about 8-10pm

Jan/Feb 2023 for the Inverness Yutongs, which are the shorter E10 model.

So that would be 6 breakdowns in 21 months, or 1 every 3 and a half months.

It's literally just passed me on the 7 in Shields now, so must have been a very short term loan.
