Edit - just passed school runner 20712 on the Brampton to Carlisle 685 duties.

They seem to be making use of the school runners on normal services this week (during school holidays). I noticed they had a school runner out on the 78 yesterday, I missed the fleet number but I noticed it on a couple of runs such as the 15.50 from Seatoller.

Great to see these Volvo B10Ms out alongside the new E200s!

Would be nice to get a photo of the B10M alongside the E200s on the respective routes.

Not the Schoolrunner ones; they're very unsuitable for town work!

Saw 20944 (I think) on the 62 going north this evening at 1645 ish too. First B10M I've seen on this route for a while!

Maybe I should have my own 'Carlisle City B10 Watch'!

Another arrival at Carlisle is ex-Bedford Dennis Trident/Plaxton President 17692 (X702 JVV), which is here for minor repairs after deroofing. In other words, it's here for open top conversion.

Information from Lee Wardle over on the Stagecoach Enthusiasts Facebook Group.

No idea.
It could be because Carlisle have the tools, equipment and capacity to do it - before it is shipped off elsewhere, or it could be for the lakes.

Sure someone will know.

Just looking at the photo from the newspaper - how did the driver miss those big yellow signs?

Sounds a bit like the incident that happened at Percy Main then?
Might be a spare for the 78 or 599 but otherwise I don't know.

Kendal for the 599.

Pretty much.

The 'height' of the bridge in Bedford, seems to be really low.
Looks to have caused a tad more damage too.

Would it not make more sense for it to stay at Carlisle for the 78 as the PVR for service 78 (on Saturdays and Monday to Fridays in School Holidays) increased from 2 to 3 this year, yet there are still only two open buses at Carlisle for service 78.
RE: Cumbria & North Lancashire Bus Operations
Regarding the 78, do Carlisle drivers drive it (and others that operate from there), or do Penrith drivers specifically drive it?
RE: Cumbria & North Lancashire Bus Operations
Seen a 3712x on the 62A this afternoon, the new batch must be here.
Noticed that on all 'standard' Stagecoach liveried E200s (not the branded ones) they are Carlisle (Your bus in the city) branded but grey, just on the front panel and above the cab O/S, don't know about N/S.

Not sure if I'm just slow at catching on, but the destination screens for service 685 have been updated to show:
Newcastle 685
*Limited Stop*
