So it looks like the fella behind it all, is doing everything.
He is going to be a busy boy!

Well well well - it looks like he's serious after all.

Getting this far in such a short time is quite an achievement considering it seemed to be an ambitious dream just under a year ago.

I hope he get to see his project through to completion. I genuinely wish him all the luck in the world.
RE: Spirit Buses
VOSA web site is indicating that Spirit Buses Ltd has been granted an operators' licence in the last few days. So perhaps we should be keeping an eye out for some service registrations and vehicle acquisitions. Earliest their services might start would be mid to late August, though, I suspect; but having missed the bulk of the summer, might they be better advised to hang fire until the spring?

Think positively eezypeazy.
He may miss the majority of the summer punters, but will have the opportunity to get in on the Christmas shoppers heading to Tyneside, establish the service locally and by next spring, he will be ready to expand and start dipping his toes into the murky waters of passenger transport in Tyne & Wear.

I've never seen it on Nexus work, just seems to be carrying pensioners whenever I see it around Sunderland.
No idea what it does though, as it's always in different places every time I do see it.
RE: Spirit Buses
Hi guys, I am friends with Steve Hurst, director and owner of spirit buses. He is a former colleague of mine at Arriva but is no way linked to any companies now other than his own. His plans are for two dart type buses which are due to arrive in the coming weeks, but he doesn't want very many details released until he is ready. Steve is a wonderful guy who has invested a lot of money and time into this venture, a lifelong ambition and recently an obsession, and now it looks like his hard work is finally paying off. I am sure you all agree that we should wish him all the best and support him however we can. It can only be a good thing for fresh New talent coming into thia business.

I think the majority on here, wish him all the luck in the world with the venture.

To get where he has, which in reality, is a short space of time - is fantastic.

Hopefully it will work out for him.

Whey they are hardly a massive corporation like...
Hopefully they will chop off one or two corporate tentacles on the way!

Deliberate. It's pronounced 'Ko-un' and it means 'Good luck'. The Kanji may be slightly wrong although I guess finding a four-leaf clover is good luck.

Spirit Buses on Facebook wroteAnother millstone occurred today with the arrival of our first bus!
If you were in Rothbury today you may of seen her making her impressive entrance around lunchtime.
She was assisted on her long journy from the south by a piggyback from a low loader.
Currently still white she will spend the next few weeks being prepared and brought into our livery ready for services stating later this summer.
If you were one of the many who stopped for photos, we'd love to see them!
