Services to north of Sunderland are currently delayed due to works. We're working with the council to lessen these delays

Must of missed that post.

It's interesting that SNE anticipate that services 8, 10/11 and 20 could be affected by the works on St. Mary's Way.

The traffic isn't anywhere near as bad as soon as you hit St. Michael's Way, so I can't see why these services would be affected? I certainly haven't seen any major late running on service 8 (which would be the easiest one to identify of the aforementioned services due to its 30 minute frequency).

Really is a shame that the Council haven't been willing to work with the bus operators to minimise disruption though.

If it continues to be as bad as this, could it be an idea to divert via Queen Alexandra Bridge, past Deptford and onto St. Michael's Way?

Heading out to the North of Sunderland, services could use the stop outside of the Glass Spider - not sure for heading into the City Centre though...

NOT LIKE GNE

Stagecoach are better at giving details of service disruptions; whilst GNE may tell you about general traffic delays and road closures, on Twitter Stagecoach provide details of specific delays and cancellations caused by breakdowns etc., a much more open and honest attitude.

I suspect that's due to the fact GNE have a Customer Services team based in their Head Office at Bensham who man the Social Media pages, and not allocated people at each depot. Given that the same e-mail address keeps on cropping up on posts, I think there's only the one guy who deals with the Social Media pages too. Very cheap way of doing it - yet still efficient.

SNE seemingly have a communication team who deal with customer responses and an operational team at each depot who deal with providing customers with information on delays and breakdowns.

The latter, I'd imagine, would be harder to control. I can't deny that customers benefit from the more specific reports (this can't be achieved as easily for GNE because a depot would have to get in touch with Bensham and then this would have to be put on Social Media pages), but I must also add that I think it's a little confusing and SNE's Twitter feed is awfully cluttered too.

How many average passengers will know what an 'Ops team' and a 'Comms team' is?

Apparently only 6 decker's will be needed, where ironically there are a total of six Dennis Tridents, meaning the four remaining Volvo Olympians may be withdrawn as they may no longer be needed.

Having a PVR of six with just six vehicles which meet the contract specification will prove difficult...

22476 and 22477 both on the road at Stockton today, on 59/61 and 12 respectively .

Would be terrible if they kept more double deckers than they need for Macmillans! Especially as if they are low floor there is no reason why the can't be used on other services.

How many do they need at the moment, not all 10.

When do they break up? Terrible finding out anything these days since our friend Richard 'retired' Connect Tees Valley has gone to pot. They don't even do a list of school services. And apparently their new Stockton High Street plan is a cock up.

Dicky used to personally change the timetables on the streets of Teesside during the night/early hours apparently!

I think the last day for my school is next Thursday, and other schools usually have their last day on the following Friday - so roughly around the 18th?

I think we can drop the whole 'Dicky' thing now - especially when said member has decided to no longer contribute to the forum as a result of it!

Schools are on strike next Thursday (well certain ones), other schools don't break up until 18.7.14.

Didn't he decide to stop contributing during his attack on me - or has he decided to stop after being called Dicky?

Completely forgot about it and him to be honest, until his name was mentioned earlier.

More than happy to forget about it again Smile

All I know is that he has left - and it's one of a number who have packed their bags.

Richard was an asset to the forum and provided a large amount of information about ANE and SNE, and although the information is still e-mailed out to certain members of this forum, it's a shame the information isn't put on the forum (as quickly as it was previously).

I can't say I agreed with his approach to "boiling over", but think it could have been avoided nevertheless. So yes, let's forget about it.

(05 Jul 2014, 8:21 pm)AIG20 wrote We already know that the Slatyford cascades have replaced 22658/9 which have went to Lincoln, but does anyone know which other Stockton MAN ALX300s have been withdrawn?

22473-75 replaced 22470, 22658/59. As 22476/77 have now entered service, a couple more should be replaced imminently.

On a related note, 22478/80/83/84 were all still in service at Slatyford today and 22481 was parked up in the depot. Had expected a couple more to be withdrawn now that all of 22021/72-78 are in service there.

Due to all the gas buses entering service, which MAN's have remained at Sunderland?

Smile

What about 22664?

Didn't 22214 and 22215 go to Newcastle recently then return to Sunderland
RE: Stagecoach Darlington
(29 May 2014, 7:55 am)Richard Smiles wrote I've been made aware that one or two queries have been made regarding the early Stagecoach Darlington Fleet, set up in 1994.

This was obviously a little bit before Computers & email as we have it today. In order therefore to hopefully answer what was in the initial Stagecoach Darlington Fleet, back in November 1994, I attach an early, though rather more basic Fleet List.
Has anyone got any ex busways Daimler fleetliners? In both Sunderland busways colours and white in stagecoach colours. I remember I remember seeing busways service 2 at farringdon in white stagecoach Darlington colours before leaving Wearside. Think it was 801 and 817

(06 Jul 2014, 6:16 pm)AIG20 wrote I think 22214 spent a few weeks at Slatyford before returning back to Sunderland, and 22215 spent a few weeks withdrawn at the rear of Sunderland depot before being returning to service.

Unless I've copied the information down incorrectly from the fleet cards, 22214 was actually transferred to Walkergate.
