Presume 4040 replaced 4659 on the 5... It should have been replaced by 1512 if they have any sense

4040 wasn't replaced - and remained on until its final trip (the 1730 5a to Brotton).

1491 on 17 as a replacement for a Cadet.
1909 on 29/29A could be counted as unusual too! First day of revised service 6 has 1771

Not for long - it was on the 43 at about 1615 this afternoon!

1923 ... 7A Yarm will be the next code down on the destinations as Mobitecs work on a 3 digit code rather than by route like the Hanovers. The amount of drivers that still struggle to work them is crazy...

So would that be deemed to be a rare working, I have only ever noticed Solos and MPDs on the 21/21A

thanks for clearing that up, 2 things crossed my mind when I saw it, either the driver was very or it was a practical demonstration of a Malarkey Marathon in action...I love you really Adam, my friend

Yes it is an odd working.

21 uses Solos and the 21A is usually a Prestige.

Well... Poor day for Blyth again today.

7608, which originally started out on the X10/X11 this morning, was on the 308 this evening.
7624, departing soon after, was on the Quorum Express.

Jesmond seemed a bit off too.

Had a white Solo on the 51, a Solo on the 306, an ALX400 on the 306, and an ALX300 worked the X85 this evening (does this run off the 306? If so, there's another one). Had a few others too, but it's so hard to photograph things in Newcastle after about 4-5pm.

Why's it hard?!

Oh sorry, I forgot 7625 was pretending to be a Hybrid on the 308 too. Obviously, these are just a few examples of odd workings spotted within a 15-20 minute window. You can expect there was actually a lot more in reality.

"Enjoy" them while you can! I suspect their days are into single figures now...

What's with the Sapphires escaping onto other routes all of a sudden?!

No idea, can only imagine that Darlington depot must be short on buses or other buses don't want to work in this heat.

wen i drove past faverdale depot this morning all that was in the yard spare was a sapphire pulsar a solo parked in dead corner a ex classic solo that was parked by the wash. inside was a solo and a pulsar getting worked on

There is pretty much always a Sapphire Pulsar spare at Faverdale, so its inevitable one will have to go out on another route if necessary. Presumably a few buses failed with the heat.

Also there was X-GGO Dart on the 3/19 this morning

They were working on the ex Classic Solo when I went past this morning and was gone this afternoon, with a 11 reg Solo parked up in its place
