Somehow I can't see Crosscountry spending money on their fleet of Voyagers...

Maybe, but can only see it if there is some money from somewhere. I have to be honest I do not travel on CrossCountry that regularly (normally its East Coast), but I have not noticed the smell.

Ah man, it is horrendous.
It hits me as soon as I get on and lingers on my clothes.
There have been times after getting off, that people thought the smell was me.
The only time I have been on a Virgin, was on a trip from Carlisle to Glasgow.
The smell was nowhere near as bad as Crosscountry - whether they were masking it better, not sure.

Virgin WCML deal extended for another two years.
New routes from Euston to Shrewsbury and Blackpool to be evaluated.

Not sure I could face a few hours on a CrossStinky or the hell that is New Street, just for a £1 ticket

I looked at RTT last night and noticed a lot of cancellations on the WCML because of signalling problems and the few trains that did went through were severely delayed(3 hours it would seem) yet metro passengers complain at minor 20 min delays...
See it could always be worse.

Looks about right apart from 390155 (X-Men Days of Future Past) which doesn't carry the vinyls for X-men anymore. Great work, James!
Virgin West Coast
Talking about vinyls, 390155 ('Business is Great Britain' one) has gained a blue vinyl on one of the 1st class carriages.
RE: Virgin West Coast
I don't believe I've just made that mistake... was just after reading your post earlier mentioning 155!
RE: Virgin West Coast
Looks like Virgin Trains are giving the Pendolinos a lick of paint, one noticeable difference is the removal of the black & white stripes on the doors which has been replaced with dark grey.

Dumfries diversion to be extended
It turns out that the diversion of the VTWC services will have an impact on Scotrail services on the route.
Although VTWC are only calling at Kilmarnock, a number of Scotrail trains which would normally use the route and call at all stations, are being replaced by road transport.
I assume this diversion will last longer than the Tyne Valley line closure and there will be some impact on Scotrail services to Newcastle.

Incident involving a VT Voyager
Service involved for anybody who cares was 1S76. It is usually the 14:30 from Euston but was cancelled and started at Carlisle due to overhead line issues which is the reason given at the top of the RTT page. However, using the news articles and Google maps (last report is the last point prior to Carluke station and Cleghorn LC is just south of Carluke), the times appear to match.

Aye it was 1S76. It was suppose to be a Class 390. I think it started at Preston and not Carlisle mind

Thought so - not too sure how it would have ended up over 200 minutes late if not involved in that incident (assuming all trains not involved would be terminated before they got to the incident site) Duh! I don't even know why I said Carlisle haha.

390010 now carries the interim Virgin Trains "Flowing Silk" livery, it's a basic version of the Azuma.
