1611, 1626, 1647, 1712 and 1724 to disposal

1724 was out on the 1 or X1 yesterday afternoon between Faverdale and Darlington and back again to Faverdale, so that a Pulsar's wiper could be repaired.
RE: Arriva North East - Latest
Just passed 1646 on the A1 heading north, next to the Metrocentre. Quite a quick move, certainly quicker than when Ashington give buses to other depots.

To clear up a few points in the last few posts...

The MPDs getting wifi are for the X14 which obviously the short ones interwork with the 33 and 57A...
Hence the longer Darts will be there until these are completed! Mix of R/S-reg at Ashington, Blyth get 3 S-regs to answer that question.

Wonder if Blyth will use them on the X14, or if they just put them on anything they want to...
RE: Arriva North East - Latest
Heard this morning that the Berwick bound X15 (the one which picks up school kids from Belford) broke down in Warenford. It took an hour and fifty mins for a replacement to arrive. Consequences were that tonight an x14 branded decker was on the 17:12 ex berwick x15 (the broken bus should have been on), and Belford kids will have been an hour late for school this morning.

4051 (S351KHN) is being used for the advanced driver training test for the existing drivers.

RE: Arriva North East - Latest
I've heard that route 35 is going to be upgraded to Max next year...
Not quite sure about that (was talking to an Arriva driver) but it's already got e-leather seats and wifi...
RE: Arriva North East - Latest
Just a quick note to confirm that 7607 is going MAX for Blyth while 7518 will be Sapphire for Ashington. The allocation did have them the wrong way round as I suspected!

They are
7401 NK64FSF
7402 NK64FSG
7403 NK64FSJ
7404 NK64FSL
7405 NK64FSN
7406 NK64FSO
Two were collected by Redcar from Jesmond today, after moving from Redcar to Jesmond yesterday morning, to be fitted with digital tachographs.

Also, bit of news for you all that we are receiving a total of 10 VDL Pulsar's from Arriva North West in the new year, expected to be a batch of 10x 12 plates from Bootle depot.

Thanks for info Tyresmoke =D

What will the 10 VDL Pulsar's replace?
Ooo Friend, Bus Friend.
RE: Arriva North East - Latest
It would be good to see darlo X1 get 12 plate Pulsars instead of streelites. It seems that if the streetlites do come they will be working from Faverdale as the management at Darlo have given in to pressure from the traffic officers to bring the buses back from the outstation.Plus it is also a cost saving measure.A shame for Garnetts to loose the work.It is unusual as outstations are usually used to save money on driver's hours and light mileage. What do other Forum members think?

What will the Pulsars from Bootle be for?
RE: Arriva North East - Latest
Should put one of the B9's up at Ashington for a month and do a performance comparison between a heavyweight and lightweight vehicle!

Believe they're to be allocated to Durham but as for what services I am unsure as yet. They will be displacing 61 plates along with the ones displaced off service 6, probably to Stockton & Redcar to replace the Cadets & B10BLEs (which are all not DDA)

Hold on, since when does a Traffic Inspector dictate a decision of that significance? I think whoever told you that is leading you up the garden path and far away.

A decision to close an outstation would be taken at head office level, not depot level and certainly not at lower management level. I very much doubt this will happen anytime soon.

What exactly would that achieve?

They can't buy any more B9's and the X93 service most certainly requires them more than either the X15 or the X18 do, due to the North Yorkshire terrain.

It would be a pretty pointless exercise at this stage in time.
