Go North East: 2014/15 Financial Year Order Predictions

Ah okay.
So the B7RLEs could be allocated to the 47 under a new brand, as they will probably be due for repaint anyway?
Possibly something related to the Red Kite.

That post was not confirmation. How many times have we heard that Go North East is going to get new double deckers from London?

We know citaro5284 is a reliable source of information, who can provide confirmation.

Dan what is the PVR of the 47 on its own, and the combined PVR of the 11/31/32.

Citaro... how many spares will be ordered?

I live in Rowlands Gill and I think that the red kite buses would benefit from upgrades even though they're 2006. Also I'm sure that the 11 interworks with the 47 at Eldon square, every 15 minutes?

11/31/32 - PVR 9 - 8x Volvo B10BLE and 1x Volvo B7RLE
47 - PVR 4 - 4x Volvo B7RLE

The workings were changed from yesterday, following the merger of Riverside and Saltmeadows Rd from Saturday gone. The 47 is now standalone (apart from a few morning/evening journeys which run off 11/31/32).

PVR upgrade in the pipeline for the X66 then? It's been fun and games when I've used the X66, since the removal of the bendies. Having standees isn't ideal, when the aim of the game is to horse it from A to B.

Only if they use contra vision for the rear branding. After the use of it on the Wear Tees Xpress, I was a bit disappointed that they didn't bother when it came to branding the Omnis for the 50. Nowt worse than windows being covered needlessly...

Never thought of that. I can see an increase in the PVR too. I'm fine getting the X66 from the MetroCentre to Gateshead, it's just always a bit cramped and uncomfortable on the Gateshead-MetroCentre runs.

Funny isn't it, it's hard to imagine a bus with the fleet number 5401 or 5413, etc. Yet in a couple of years time we'll look back on the likes of the 48xx series and it will look strange...

How times change!

If they're due for arrival between March and May, I imagine some will be in attendance.

I would think the ones for the X66 will arrive first, to sort it out on the whole. Like aureolin said, it's not ideal to have cramped full-size single deckers, and I too can see a PVR increase if the capacity is shortened.

Then to get rid of the B10BLEs, or displace them to other depots, etc, I think the Limes will come after that, possibly April.

I rode bendy bus on their last day in service and it was pretty busy so I dread to think what's it's like on a Solar, especially on a Saturday.

That's if GNE actually attend? I seem to recall they were getting some grief last year for 'dominating' it. Little thanks for the depot tours or run outs like...

I would hope so! I suppose they did dominate it a bit, was it 14 buses attended in 2014?

Stagecoach didn't seem to bother last year, I'd like to see an ALX300 at the rally this year! Big Grin

The issue is that, on Monday - Friday and Sunday daytimes, a PVR upgrade wouldn't be necessary. I'm inclined to suggest that something needs to be done about peak times, as I've seen standees from the front of a single deck to the back. Saturday daytimes seem to cope fine at the moment with single deckers, but every seat always seems to be occupied. Peak times, same story.

Wonder if it would be possible to retain the current PVR but drop red buses onto the X66 at peak times to keep things moving?

The Commercial Team realised this was an issue, and that's why the mitre vinyl which covers the windows towards the back of the vehicle was replaced with contravision in the recent re-branding of the Scania L94s to allow customers to see out of the windows easily.

See the photo below - you can see the colour difference when the sun shines on it:

I think they'll attend, but just in a limited capacity. A couple of buses, similar to Arriva's recent presence at the Metrocentre. Think that was the point of sending so many last year.

As previously discussed, there are not enough omnicities to replace all the Toon Link branded vehicles. It looks like just the Renowns will be replaced since they need to be withdrawn before January 2016 because of DDA requirements.
