haha sorry couldn't resist!

Also the Newcastle Striker that didn't want to wear the new Newcastle shirt because of religious beliefs in loans, betting etc.., but he had to back down and start to wear the new shirt because there were pictures taken of him betting in Casino's.

RE: Go North East
Grabbed a ride on 3803 this morning on the 21. She seemed in good nick. Find it more comfy thsn the Hybrids and she seemed quite clean inside.

No Steve and Karen either!
RE: Go North East
Andreos1 wrotecan't remember the 638 terminating at Low Fell though. Where would it have turned around? To be honest, if it had ran to Low Fell, I probably would have used it.

http://www.gateshead.gov.uk/DocumentLibr..._guide.pdf

The above link is an old bus leaflet about how to access the Great North Forest, it shows the 638 terminating on Sunday at Heworth. It might be worth adding this leaflet to the collection but beyond my current brain power when it comes to uploading pdfs

Sorry to bring it up again, but that Durham Road corridor via the Angel had some frequency prior to the changes - quite an array of destinations being served too!

My favourite topic Big Grin

It's quite telling how few destinations are being served now (as a terminus). I can only count Chester Le Street, Durham, Wrekenton, Kibblesworth and Middlesbrough - Which isn't many

I understand this planned park and ride will be using Angel buses if it goes ahead and not separate buses btw Dodgy

Can remember a few services operating along durham road. Including the 183 metrocentre to washington. 722 723 newcastle to darlington. 709 728 chesterle street to Newcastle.
724 BIshop Auckland to Newcastle
RE: Go North East
So passengers with access to a car and on the current 21 route (or even living just off it), will drive to Eighton Banks, park their car and get into Newcastle/Gateshead on the same bus they would have used anyway - but pay less for the privilege?
Thus clogging up the local road network even more...

I would like (but probably never will) to see how similar sites in Durham, have contributed to more localised traffic and the effect on loadings/longer distance journeys for the likes of the 15, 20 or Arriva services from Bishop.

The land on the old Truckstop site stood empty for ages - I wonder if that had a better potential, than the site by the Angel?
It would also be beneficial for the Park n Ride at the Angel to have a service linking it to Team Valley.

Very Interesting Working, Might have to get the house early to catch these workings at somepoint, are any evening journey's operated by GNE also.
RE: Go North East
I know its the wrong bus company but talking about Durham Road Low Fell can anyone remember the Calvary Coaches service 380 that used to run the lengthy Tynemouth to Washington route via Coast road Newcastle City Centre Gateshead Low Fell and Birtley

For the 939, just one. It arrives Sunderland just after 6 if you want to work timings out for Washington.

Real Radio B7 3964 has just replaced a branded B9 (6044 off memory) on the X10. For how long before it breaks down is another matter...

Yeah, as the road narrows and drops down the hill on Front Street, towards the market, crowds of people will suddenly swarm around the bus as it stops. That is your cue to get off.

Pretty sure it did - not sure if it kept the same number, but 99.9% certain it kept going for a short while.

Just read on Go North East Bus Enthusiast Group on Facebook that apparently a Mercedes Citaro K will be trialled on the Quaylink Q1/Q2, But it hasn't been confirmed yet whether it will be on the services specified above. Could be a different Service.

RE: Go North East
Had to pop to the shops before and as I was driving back, the 71 at 18.22 decided to deviate from its normal route.

Rather than head down Dairy Lane (following a 20a) from Winters Bank & head onto the Broadway, before heading along Newbottle Street NIS and spin around at the roundabout, he decided to head up Burn Park Road (behind an M1).
Would be curious to know the official line on that one.
