Another one from the bus war was the OK service 23 from Worswick Street to Vigo Bridge via Low Fell and Birtley. That one caused Go Ahead Gateshead to run the 124 to compete with the OK 724. The 124 was an interesting service as it ran dead miles on a morning from Winlaton to Bishop Auckland.

A great find! I was looking for a picture like this the other day when the Tyne Rider routes were being discussed. As I posted back then, the 74/75 (or maybe 73/74 - can't remember) ran in competition to Classic's 85/86 which competed with the 53/54. All those high-frequency buses going along Coatsworth Road. It must've been a nightmare to navigate.
