I'm sure there is a reason as to why they use the coaches tho is it not somthing to do with it being full size and manual! I remember reading sumit about it! Not to sure tho
I was told the reason that they use the current ex National Express coaches is:
- They are to good to get rid of, although their life as National Express vehicles has now come to an end.
- They are a pleasure to drive and comfortable which makes life a little easier for a trainee driver.
- They have the crew seat at the front, so that the instructor can sit with the trainee and no vehicle modification is required. Vehicle modification would be needed on an ex service bus eg; Volvo Olympian Palatine 2s or Volvo B10BLE Wright Renown, to create a seat for the instructor at the front with the trainee driver.
- They are also Automatic.
