3825 wasn't the best performer. I don't know what it was like down at Chester-le-Street but it did have a thing for taking a while to change gears. Not brilliant when it was on the run up to a bank meaning it couldn't show its potential because its run up was ruined.
When 3825 was at Chester-le-Street, it was just a nice bus in general. My favourite place to sit was the single side-facing seat that looked up to the staircase. My friends would opt to sit at the seats just next to it, and directly behind the seats. If we were lucky, and the Year 8s were outnumbered, we would try and take the back seats.
Luckily, when I did go into Year 8 and 3825 was still with us, I had the pleasure of sitting at the back until November(ish), when it was suddenly transferred to Stanley. Although it's more the roar of the Olympian engine that I like to listen to, it is very noticeable when you've got one with a belt scream, a slippy gearbox, or it rattles like a box of nails. My least favourite is 3832, for the latter reason. 3830 and 3831 are two of the best, in my opinion.
