A brand does not need to have a non-bus related meaning. For example, the Fab Fifty Six and Seven both reflect the number of the services. 56 and 57 respectively.

Using the same logic, you could argue that 'connecting the dots' is referring to the stops on the route map, or places on an actual map. If you have 3 places ('dots' or 'pins') you need to visit, what do you do? Join them up with a route you're going to take in between.

The brand still means nothing to me, and I'm not convinced that it's a great or catchy name.
