As a result they are now in talks about a new destination blind system, like what Edinburgh use. Not done with winding handles, still with the buttom system and it just turns at sets itself, winding handle provided for a backup. Its only talks its not confirmed i must stress. Carn't see it happening myself, cost too much.
Load of bollocks - it's not even in talks, and if it was, I'd be one of the first to find out about it.
We're rolling out a new system which involves profiling the driver's console, removing the need to change switch settings on the destination display itself, ready for the DDA regulations coming into fruition from 1 January 2016. 5154 and 5157 would not load Profile 10 (which is what the dual-door Volvo B10BLEs are on) when they were updated last Saturday, so they're on Profile 9 temporarily (which is what the Scania OmniDekkas are on) until Hanover fix the issue with the driver consoles on those two vehicles. As such, the front display looks a bit obscure and the back display does not work (as the OmniDekkas have LEDs on the rear rather than flipdot).
