I don't mention any routes for personal
preference (minus vehicle type). I simply discuss this from a business perspective. If GNE had've followed the 1-7/8 rule when buying the B9TLs for the TEN (although they'd still be a spare short due to the PVR change since then), then I'd be saying different. But because:
- The Angel is 2 short of a modern Gemini PVR.
- No spare B9s at Riverside.
- TEN is still a B9 short due to 6084 constantly being needed on the TTX.
- Percy Main could do with another spare.
- The Pronto needs an upgrade.
- The oldest Red Ardows are coming upto 5yr old albeit still gan strong.
- The Red Arrows is missing plug sockets unlike the other major double deck routes (excluding the Angel and Red Kite).
Therefore, it would make good business sense to upgrade the Red Arrows with ADL bodied deckers with the power and chassis provided by Scania or ADL/Cummins.
