If you look at the date, the split commences from the 6th June - the same date as the start of the bridge closure at Hexham.
My guess is, due to the diversion towards the West End of Hexham then back via the A69 to Bridge End roundabout (a detour of approx 4-5 miles), the service may need a tachograph due to the added mileage thus the split. I don't think it will be a long-term thing, just for the duration of the closure.
