Having been in use as a Staff Shuttle van for the past week or two, 554 has now been withdrawn from service at Riverside and is at Saltmeadows Road. Together with 5166 and 8263, this vehicle will be collected by Hopdeals Group, Goole, tomorrow. This company acts as a broker, and will attempt to sell this vehicle and others of its type on for further use.
Volvo B7TL 6040 has been sold for scrap to Trevor Wigley.
All four former Thames Travel Solos have now been repainted and will be branded later this week. 701 and 703 were cleaned internally this morning and have also had Hanover LED destinations fitted.
6055 is the latest Volvo B9TL to be repainted red, while 628 is the latest Sunderland Connect to arrive at Saltmeadows Road for repaint. Unlike the three Hybrids, 628 will be repainted into Go North East's corporate livery, due to the loss of the daytime 701 contract.
Three Scania OmniDekkas were collected by Go North East on Sunday. These have been numbered in the fleet as follows:
- 6141 (YN04 GJY)
- 6142 (YN04 GJZ)
- 6144 (YN05 GZL)
MPD 565 has been withdrawn from service at Deptford and is now at Saltmeadows Road - it will be sold for scrap. MPD 549 is therefore no longer in a float/reserve capacity.
To clarify the movements with Scania L94s - 5215 transferred to Chester-le-Street from Deptford last week ahead of the impending PVR reduction on service 20 (as a result of the end of the roadworks in Durham). This has allowed 4929 to transfer to Riverside. A Volvo B10BLE will be withdrawn as a consequence, though this has not yet taken place. 4965 has not yet transferred to Chester-le-Street, but it has been released from Deptford due to a reduction in spare vehicles. No vehicle will be withdrawn at Chester-le-Street as a consequence, due to a PVR increase here.
