I'm not mad keen on Citaros for express routes to be honest. They move OK, as long as the pumps haven't been turned down, but the seats are rather hard for an hour's ride. That said, the X84 and X85 seem to get decent loads at most times of day, and may well justify an upgrade. The routes are punishing, with stop-start along West Road in and out of Newcastle and then thrashing over the A69 and rough rural roads at speed, so those Scanias will be well worn by now. Maybe they'll end up on that home of the worn out bus, the 28/28A!
