I think the only way this would realistically work is if you got the timing absolutely spot on. At the moment, I don't think the 43 does as well as it could between Bedlington and Morpeth because it is timed to arrive a minute or two before the 2, which is generally bang on time, with the 43 often late. I think it could be a very good service if thought out correctly.
If you got the timings in Bedlington towards Morpeth arriving at least 5 minutes before the following 2, it would stand a good chance, as it would pick up the passengers purely wanting to go to Morpeth, as well as giving the west of Bedlington, which is expanding, a half hourly Morpeth bus.
Edit: I'd also try and make it as 'express' as possible. Cut out the Shankhouses, Red House Farm, and Stobhill sections. Possibly also look at extending it to Silverlink at the southern end.
