Sensible use of 'resources' (recycling).
I was brought up in an age of 'make do and mend' (immediately after the War when new items were scarce).
Indeed! Davies seem to be one of the more proactive bus breakers - not just scrapping a bus, but potentially making a bit more money on it by spending the time on recovering and using the good components in these various poor condition MPDs, to create a good bus.
Davies sold 3831 onward to Ramsey Breakers, Huntingdon, last month. No word as of yet on the remaining seven MPDs which they bought.
In terms of what has been sold to Ensign Bus recently - 6008 and 6029 have both since been acquired by First Kernow (thought to be temporary loans to alleviate vehicle shortages in their elderly fleet, where reliability is probably lacking), while 3978 has been acquired by Newport Transport Ltd.
