My issue is where companies buy low height buses then run them on routes with no height restrictions, all that does is make the experience worse for the passenger!
Some companies run low height deckers for convinience.
Stagecoach for example have said it makes it easier to transfer vehicles to other fleets around the country.
Oxford Bus Company specified low height for operational convinience meaning they can easily transfer buses to other routes that go under the Railway Bridge at the station.
Scottish Bus Companies went for lowheight depots as a large number of depots in certain areas couldn't fit full height vehicles like Leyland Atlanteans, Volvo Ailsas, then later on Volvo Citybuses and Leyland Lions.
