You need to remember that taking all these buses away from princess street and the City Centre will improve the shopping experience for shoppers, thus for ever person who would choose not to go because of having to change to the tram, several will now go due to not having to breath in diesel fumes as they walk along the street.
Essentially like what happened on Northumberland St.
Can't see that has made much impact on the way people shop and visit Newcastle.
