RE: Go North East - Latest
I think the double deckers for the Cobalt Clipper are a good investment by GNE and will give Arriva's 308 a good run for it's money. The journey times between Newcastle and the stops between Rake Lane and Whitley Bay are marginal now with the increased load and demand on the 308. If GNE market the 309 and the new B9's well, the 309 and 310 could become one of GNE's major services. If you look at it this way, the 309 timetable can easily accomodate the extra few passengers but the 308 timetable will struggle and as well as that, the 309 only has the traffic blackspots of Cradlewell, Station Road and Shiremoor Area but, the 308 has the first two plus Willington, Silverlink, and Formica .
