I used to love the X84/X85 getting it very earlier in the morning and late in the afternoon and seeing the sun come up and rise was a nice sight.

309 on a morning coming from Blyth towards Whitley Bay will be a good bet. Particularly if you can time it right, as you come down the coast.

Other operator routes, could include the E1 or the X4.
Both operate along the coast and that's going to offer you the most uninterrupted views of a sunrise.
