Most of the Stanley and consett routes have some pretty stunning sections as, despite some run down towns, they are largely rural and hilly

The only clear rural run the x21 gets is between Middlestone Moor and Bishop, though the bridge at Croxdale is cute and sometimes has sheep.

The 59, on a Sunday, does a nice ramble. No big skies, but some lovely woodland. No chance of a sunrise and none of a sunset between March and November, though.
