Guessing no doubt the E's got chosen is so everyone get's a bit of the pie so South Tyneside can't moan they got nothing since everywhere is covered.
43/44/45/47 - Northumberland (scraping the barrel admitably), North Tyneside and Newcastle
E1/E2/E6 - South Tyneside / Sunderland
21 - Newcastle / Gateshead / Durham
Oh aye no doubt - it looks like the E's will stay half hourly (10 mins combined), leaves 11 buses left unallocated.
I was hoping for the my local route, the 23 (6 PVR) to be allocated some, as the 16 already uses newer buses (well I say newer, half of them sound horrendous and sound like they're about 30 years old), keeping most of the gas buses on their current routes.
The 16 has a 7 PVR
I take it, it'll be the E300's which will leave Sunderland.
E1/2/6 - 9 PVR
20 - 5 PVR
23 - 6 PVR
That leaves no spares
Hopefully they go for the same features as GNE - however they still have the WIFI turned off on the gas buses..........
Edit:
I know its just been announced, but does anyone know when the new buses will start to arrive?
Wonder if orders have already gone in.
