I agree with your original post though, surely the 317 would be sufficient on a Sunday. I'm not sure what the benefit of the 19 is considering Cobalt is dead on weekends, and most 19s I see are completely dead on Sundays.

Yeah totally agreed, it just seems overbussed to me, like I could understand the long 19's running as it opens up a few links but the shorts is just pointless. Personally, I wish they'd drop the 19 down to hourly all day and work with Stagecoach and extend all the 22's to Northumberland Park. From a future rail user, having a frequent bus down to Cobalt / Silverlink / Wallsend would be actually kind of useful and I'm sure there'd be the potential for a few doing the opposite flow especially considering the 22's are also dead most the time. The services between the Metro and Cobalt are appalling imo.
