I'd personally at Newcastle also merge it onto the 53/54 running a mixed allocation of E10/E12's as it would certainly give some long term sustainability to be ran commercially than have 2 of the 3 existing routes being supported by Nexus, only issue would be routing to merge onto the 53.

There are a lot of routes across the region that could be merged together in order to streamline services and offer improved connections for locals, for example the Arriva 43/44/45 and Go North East 58 are due to get Electric Deckers following successful Zebra2 bids, why not merge the services into one and have them jointly operated similar to how we currently have with the 306/307/308/309 on the Coast Road Corridor.
