Surely the cycle lane over the flyover had a couple of reasons for being put into action. 1 to keep cyclists safe and away from cars and 2 to extend the life of the flyover as isn't it sinking with all the traffic using it? If you think the disruption on the tyne bridge is bad wait untill they have to knock that down!
