Always thought it was to do with tachos myself..? If the registration is split, then the destination the service holds has to be split to match accordingly.
If it's not split, the vehicle has to have a tachometer.
I'd assume newer Geminis would have them fitted though, so don't see why GNE's 10 has it in that format.
