They do yes, however Jim Hughes is owned by Ian Shipley and his son, who are also the directors at Classic. Work has been moved out of Classic to Arriva and coaches have been transferred out to TGM Heathrow so I think we can all see what is going on there.
I get the relationship between Classic and Jim Hughes. But if work is being tendered out by Nexus (coupled with all the rules that apply), how would the relationship benefit Jim Hughes?
It isn't as if Nexus could say 'Jim Hughes wasn't the lowest bid, but because of their relationship with Classic, we will give them the contract'.
I can only assume the bid writing techniques and costing exercises Classic have used, may be shared.
Didn't realise the Classic coach work was being shifted south.
