Does anyone know current prices between the two points for comparison?
It is still jointly worked - Arriva using 4 buses, Stagecoach using 2 (officially coaches but seems to be anything these days, especially as unlike the Arriva workings, Stagecoach have spilt the route to avoid requiring tachographs).
