Try being a passenger riding the 1/5/5A on a Solo, especially on the 5/5A between Darlington Town Centre and Harrowgate Hill, sometimes you have standing and then you have to move every 5 seconds for people to get off, this ends up taking longer than usual and results in the service falling behind time (although the 5/5A is often running a few minutes late).

At worst allocating Solos to the 75/76 you may get a few journeys with standees but that's probably the worst it would get, also I imagine it would be easier to get Solos around some of the roads on these routes.
