If I'm being brutally honest, I personally wouldn't bother with history, unless your future career path demands a qualification in that area. The Academy I know of doesn't get a very good uptake of Humanties subjects, unless someone has a specific career path in mind. Generally only a handful in each class!
Perhaps GCSE IT is a better option? If you're wanting to work in management, you'll generally have Spreadsheets and Powerpoints coming out of your ears, so the subject may benefit you.
