Today is meant to be its last day at Crook.

Do you know which location it will be at next?,will it go back North/South or west?

Rumour has it that it's going back to Lothian Buses, although I heard before it arrived at Go North East that they'd been told it had left for good...
So in short, I don't think anyone knows that one for certain!

An idea would be for it to go East though... Angel

Sunderland is terrible mate, on the 9 earlier and it took over 15 Minutes from Fawcett St to get over the Bridge, the traffic lights at the top of John St. and St Marys Way is the problem and it's having a knock on effect

Ye was just about to edit my post that the temp traffic lights at St Mary's roundabout is to blame.

What are they doing around there, are they taking the roundabout up? (as i'm sure i read thatt in the plans ages ago)

Did not have a good look but it looks like the roundabout is gone and it is temporary lights on there, which are a pain in the arse...

Should not be long before St. Marys is finished...4 or 5 months, cannot come soon enough 😀[SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND TIGHTLY-CLOSED EYES]

Hopefully, unless they removing 1 lane to make the area more bigger and for better flow on the new road at the VAUX, it also looks like the bus turn on to where joplings used to be is getting changed to.

What they should do is make it a square junction, would be a lot of easier, look at the Wheatsheaf, since they changed it, its much better.

Think it should be completed by October this year.

Services operating from Sunderland are experiencing delays of up to an hour due to traffic congestion at Fawcett Street.
We would advise that you head to Sunderland Interchange to catch your bus.

I'm just glad that I've finished college now as I would have been stood at the bus stop for ages.

Undecided that's not good, i have no idea what they are doing on that roundabout, hopefully its getting removed!

Glad i'm finished to, as of now i only do my placements now, which is on a Wednesday and Friday... hopefully its not as bad tomorrow

It was really bad when I was in Sunderland around 1pm, so I left by Metro. Just passed 3x 56s in a row at Wrekenton.

In other news, wifi on 6005 is knackered. Gets stuck on 'obtaining IP address'.

The removal of this roundabout will create a pedestrian gateway onto Vaux and new public space at the west end of High Street West. This will be the main link between the existing city centre and Vaux

Just noticed on the new timetables for changes to services on the 27th July, that the logo GNE used for 100 years has being removed.

No, it was repainted purple quite some time ago - was needed for the 39's PVR (along with ex-Drifter 8306-09).

Quicker than Michael and his GNE status updates! Wink

Is it one of the plain Versa's?

Probably explains why the red Versa hasn't been spotted!

Didn't even see when you had posted it - just refreshed and saw a post I could answer!

Yes - was repainted at the very start of the year:

If ebay would behave itself ive got the Go Northern MPD on the 734 and a Leyland National as well
Plus god knows how many timetables and route maps
Seems a shame to put them in the recycling if someone would have a use for them even if only for reference and a bit of nostalgia

Hey, if reference and nostalgia can help the FPF campaign - then excellent!

Seriously though, hope ebay starts behaving and you can sell the stuff.
The timetables may be worth scanning (before you sell them) and emailing to the mods on here for the Bygone section - sure it would be appreciated.

If worst comes to worst and you don't sell them, GNE are doing a #throwbackthursday blog post each Thursday with old photos and all. Not sure if you could donate them to Queen St if you had to get rid regardless of being able to sell them!

There are also members of this forum who would perhaps like to add to their own collection but don't have a means of financing it - contributors to the Bygone Era on here may be interested at a lower fee if buying in bulk? Something to consider.

Change of topic here, but what does the 307 that arrives in Haymarket at 0746? - X39's?

(30 Jun 2014, 6:15 pm)Dan wrote The following vehicles have now arrived at Saltmeadows for repaint:

- Volvo B7TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 3963 (NK06 JXD), into corporate livery.
- Volvo B10BLE/Wright Renown 4899 (V989 ETN), into corporate livery.
- Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 4975 (NK53 UOB), into a plain black base livery.

4975 returned to Deptford yesterday morning and was out in service by the afternoon.

4976 should be sent to Saltmeadows this weekend (I'd imagine Sunday would be most likely, given that there's no Fast Cats operations on a Sunday).

No, a "Coaster" branded OmniCity works that service.
It runs light to Gateshead from Newcastle and then works the 07:56am #1 to Whitley Bay.

Unfortunately last time I went out for a photograph of that run, the driver had already put "Not in Service" on the display by the time it arrived into Newcastle.
